About

Hello, my name is Andrés and from an early age, I've had an interest to explore and educate myself. The seed was embedded early on by my mother and reinforced further by family trips to Puerto Rico. At age 15, I would embark on my first international trip, which was a milestone of discovery for me. By my early 20s, I strengthened my passion with an internship providing me the opportunity to explore Central / South America and upon my graduation, a two month backpacking trip throughout Europe.

My career would start with an auditing gig, promoting my passion to new global lengths, interweaving my life with travel and calling my home, a temporary residence. Over the last decade, I’ve had the pleasure to call the Middle East my home and living within Dubai has accentuated my passion to new heights, serving as an exceptional global traveling hub. Yet, no matter where I’ve been, there is always the inevitable question, where to next?

Whether it's Tolkien's "Not all who wander are lost" or Buddha's "It is better to travel well than to arrive" or Mohammed's "Don't tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you traveled," it's certain that the eclectic wise people of the past seem to acknowledge the invaluable gift in traveling. My goal is to inform individuals about travel, to provoke you to travel and to explore places that may be of interest to you.

And if you’re questioning the name (and rightly so), I came upon the German word fernweh - n. farsickness or longing for far-off places. A beautiful word that captures the burning desire of many but perhaps a challenge to pronounce, so I replaced the last two letters. If you're still reading this, you have my sincerest gratitude for allowing me the privilege of your time. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions and feel free to follow, comment and like any of my content within social media. I'll leave you with one more saying, "Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain.
